I mentioned the necessity of an oven thermometer in my Necessary Objects post a week or so ago. This morning's San Francisco Chronicle has an article on why not all ovens bake the same - a lot of the focus is on newer ovens with convection capability, but there are a lot of useful tips for getting to know your oven and getting the best results from it.
